Join Jennifer Tafe, director of Mass Audubon's Museum of American Bird Art (MABA), for an exciting conversation and images from the Museum's collection on Friday, Sept. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. Learn about the history of Mass Audubon’s mission to prevent bird extinction during the 19th century, and see how they continue to inspire their art collection. In this lecture, Jennifer will share some of the museum’s fascinating artworks and discuss how artists have engaged with birds over time and how we can harness the power of art to inspire action.

Jennifer Tafe is the director of Mass Audubon's Museum of American Bird Art (MABA). Jennifer most recently served as a Visiting Scholar at Brandeis University, where she joined after completing her PhD in Art History at Boston University. Her museum experience includes years with the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History. As a member of their Art and Science Committee, she developed exhibits and programs that brought art and nature together, often with the purpose of raising awareness of environmental concerns. 

Her experience also includes artifact management work on several archaeological expeditions in Israel, along with education and board development experience at museums in Washington, D.C., including The Phillips Collection and the National Museum of Asian Art.
